Brief update

We had a bit of an upset over the weekend when 2 of our foster cats got outside. Pippa came home after an hour or so, but Fergus was missing for almost 24 hours. I pushed myself a lot, walking around and crouching, searching and calling for him. I also stayed overnight in the laundry room with the door open in case he came back. Luckily, Daniel found him the next evening, safe and sound but scared and dirty. Needless to say, I crashed once he was found. It was worth it to find our little man, but it wasn't good for me. I skipped a planned event so I could rest, but I also had a gentle physiotherapy session. For the past 2 days I've been experiencing Post Exertional Malaise. I know from experience that adrenalin (like the kind that comes from looking for and worrying about a missing pet) can keep me going for a while but it comes with a high cost. Even brief bursts of adrenalin lead to a crash. I guess it's too late to go skydiving. I was able to rest today but I have appointments for the next 2 days. It's humbling to admit that such small things can leave me in bed for days at a time.
