I'm so glad that you're reading my blog. My hope is that you're learning about M.E., chronic illness and disability in general, or are finding comradery. I enjoy following writers and creators who are part of the disabled community because many of our experiences are similar regardless of our differing medical conditions. We share common ground and also have things to learn from each other. If you'd like to follow others who document their experiences with disability, I've listed some of my favourites below.

John Morris is a triple amputee and world traveler. He is based in the US, but reviews accessibility of cities around the world that he has personally visited. He also has a lot of tips to share for wheelchair users who love to travel. Whether you use a wheelchair or not, his articles are insightful.

I love Nina Tame. She's from the UK and is genuine, sassy, insightful, colourful, and hilarious. You can subscribe to her Substack or follow her on social media.

Anna Redshaw lives in the UK and is the creator of ‘Blue Sunday’, the Tea Party For M.E., a fundraising event she started in 2013 to raise money and awareness. The event is now held internationally and has raised over £70,000 for M.E. organisations worldwide. Anna is also an absolutely lovely person.

Whitney Dafoe lives in the US and chronicles his life with severe M.E. He is a photographer and advocate, and you can also follow him on Instagram and Facebook.

Carly Findlay OAM is an award-winning  writer, speaker, and appearance activist from Australia. She also has the most amazing and colourful wardrobe I've ever seen. She introduced me to the term 'dopamine dressing' as well as many Australian clothing designers. You can also follow her on social media.

Jenni is a disabled model and digital creator from the UK. Her reels about glasses vs other aids are brilliant.

I also want to recommend the 2020 documentary Crip Camp which is available on Netflix in most countries. It's about the campers and counsellors at Camp Jened in the 1970s, many of whom went on to become instrumental in shaping disability rights in the US such as the Americans with Disabilities Act.

This is just a short list of people you can follow. There is no shortage of blogs and social media accounts by disabled creators, and all of them have something important to contribute. If you have a favourite, please let me know! You can either comment below or use the contact form on the main page.
