Another Diagnosis

While Daniel recently acquired a whole collection of diagnoses in a single day, I gained one new diagnosis. Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, or POTS.

POTS is a common comorbidity with M.E. In my case it means that my heart rate spikes into Tachycardia with very little exertion, and when I reach up or down. In many cases it means fainting upon standing, so I'm lucky my case is mild.

There is no cure for POTS, but there are treatments. I have a prescription that I still have to look at, and I need more sodium and liquids to increase my blood volume. So if I eat a salty snack, I'm not eating junk food - I'm treating my POTS! In reality, I'll be guzzling electrolytes and not eating bags of potato chips.
